Job Description:

Provide technical leadership for innovation and advanced R&D initiatives.  Work closely with the Director of marketing and Innovation and Director of Technical Services to develop new products, product enhancements and technological advancements in support of company growth.  Provide excellent customer relationship management while processing excellent formulation and R&D capabilities with strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively work with both internal and external customers.  Lead and/or support cross-functional teams for the transition of innovative advancements as required.  Develop a portfolio of new products offering unique properties incorporating new technologies in ingredients, formulation and processing, as well as supporting documentation (validation, technical bulletins, white papers, chemical and analytical data and other properties).  Work closely with marketing and sales related to competitive activity, customer requirements and industry advancement initiatives.  Build and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers that can provide ingredient and technology support for innovation initiatives.  Provide scale up support to assure a successful transition to product commercialization for all innovation initiatives.  Mentor food technologists and lab technicians as assigned.

Requirements:

*Prefer PhD or MS, but will consider BS Food Science Degree or related.
*7 years product development/food science experience including a minimum of 2 years performing advanced R&D innovation related responsible and/or and equivalent combination of education and experience.
*Ideally, product experience in fruit, confections, bakery, fillings or condiments (salad dressings and sauces).
*Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
*Very strong communication skills - - verbally and in writing.
