Job Description:

Provide technical and culinary leadership and supervision in the planning and execution of food product development projects across multiple categories and product types. Serve as the primary point of knowledge and disseminator of information on the products themselves, understanding and communicating the technical and regulatory opportunities as well as product performance experienced by the consumer. Work with team members to ensure successful start-ups of new products, product improvement, cost reduction, ingredient, formula, specification or process changes. Develop experimental formulas, processing procedures and specifications for raw ingredients and finished products for new product, product improvement and cost reduction. Work on multiple projects and prioritize projects managing all timelines. Ensure development of specifications that accurately describe the products to facilitate ongoing quality production. Timeline management of the varied inputs – supplier product development, package development, building the quality program for the products.

Requirements:

* BS Food Science or related field. Advance degree in Food Science/related discipline a plus.
* Minimum 5 years food product development experience – with working knowledge of sensory evaluation techniques to assess product performance. Culinary experience a plus!
* Solid understanding of food regulations and labeling requirements, along with basic knowledge of nutrition and implications to product development.
* Strong and supportive team player.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong computer skills.
* Travel as needed.
