Senior Research Scientist - Enzyme

Job Description:

Responsible for product development of novel carbohydrates using enzyme catalysis and/or modification.  Scale-up and commercialization of new products and process improvement for existing, commercial enzyme processes.  Ensure enzyme reaction and handling considerations are maintained during development and scale-up stages.  Find, identify and evaluate new enzyme technologies for new product opportunities.  Lead product development projects coordinating with cross-functional project teams with engineering, analytical, food applications, sensory, product design and other technical divisions. 



Requirements:

* PhD Biochemistry, Chemistry, Engineering or closely related.
* 3 – 7 years experience at a food or food ingredient company with emphasis on enzymatic processes and enzyme usage.
* Experienced in material science, chemistry, carbohydrate and ingredient design all a plus!
* Ability to apply fundamental knowledge to new product development.
* Must have relevant computer skills including Microsoft Office programs.
* Strong communications skills – both written and verbal.
